The Librarian: Steampunk Robot

Yes, I did make this entirely myself today

A few notes:
I'm not sure whether this bot would be factory produced or not, if not, there'd only be this variation, the textures will be very articulate, swirling designs etc., but if factory produced I may make various versions as mechanics at a vehicle depot, Waiters at the Hotel... this bot could become a mass produced assistant (varying heads and bodies) assisting in gravitised colonies around the Aether. I will talk with Ulf before choosing a path.

This is good and quite in the style I like to see for our art. Get it skinned and animated, we'll let folks drive around our first demo maps with it.

Texturing time!




Texturing done, I'll either animate the dude or return to work on Wellston, pending a quick discussion on which should take priority.

Oh, and I think I'll name the original one Archibald. Perhaps an NPC character for the Wellston library?

Okay, so we're going "mass produced assistant" on this one. I've designed some variations.

Recycler:



Mechanic (untextured):



I'm currently working on a speedy "Policebot", complete with vertical siren bulbs, and Tesla-tazers. These would probably be manufactured by a different company (they float like the No.5 and zilbot).

The company I have in mind for the service bots is the Brassbolt Robotics Company. I've designed a logo that I placed on the "tank" part at the rear of the bots, as the texture there is the same throughout.


As you all know, I've lovingly built these robots (along with Wellston itself) and have named each one, as they're fairly sentient/intelligent service bots (to make their interfacing with humans a smoother experience for the clients they are sold to).

The Librarian steambot in Wellston is named Archibald. The Recycler steambot is named Otto. The policebots would likely simply have a serial number (and maybe we could give them ranks, higher ranks having additional features).

Anyway, with Wellston being prepared for the mini-release, these little guys will be sure to make an appearance.
